Dr Lucy Ferguson is a specialist in gender equality and women´s empowerment. She has worked with a range of international organisations on these issues, including UN Women Training Centre, UN Volunteers, Commonwealth Secretariat and UNDP: Lucy has written several key publications on gender issues in tourism since 2007. She previously collaborated with UNWTO as a Gender Specialist and has trained private sector tourism companies in gender equality.
Lucy obtained her PhD from the University of Manchester, UK in 2007 - on the gender dimensions of tourism in Central America. She is Research Associate at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva. Her most recent book is Gender Training: a Transformative Tool for Gender Equality (Palgrave Gender and Politics Series, 2018).
