Eike Otto is working since 1991 as independent tourism consultant in Germany and abroad, both for private and public clients. His main topic is sustainable tourism, current project references range from tourism in nature protected areas and energy efficiency in the hotel and gastronomy segment to quality training measures and tourism marketing/ promotion. After an apprenticeship in landscaping he studied landscape planning at Technical University in Berlin and additionally tourism management at the Institute for Tourism at the Free University of Berlin. After several leading positions in planning and consultancy companies in 2005 he decided to continue as freelance consultant and to focus on sustainable tourism projects.
Today he works as moderator, consultant and trainer in tourism and can look back on the experience of over 100 projects, mainly in in Europe, Africa and Asia. Currently, Eike works in Madagascar, Bosnia-Herzegovina and in Cambodia.
