Hon. Maria Amalia Revelo Raventós

With over 40 years of experience in the tourism industry, María Amalia Revelo became last May the first woman to be appointed Minister of Tourism in Costa Rica. 

Her professional experience covers fields as varied as airlines operations, airport sector, hotel sector, promotion and marketing of Costa Rica. 

She holds a master´s degree in Business Administration from the INCAE Business School and a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics. 

She has been a member of the boards of directors of Costa Rica’s National Chamber of Tourism, Site Chapter, Association of Tourism Professionals and the Meetings and Incentives Association. Revelo is also former Vice President and Honorary Member of the Association of Tourism Professionals of Costa Rica and founder and active member of the Marketing Committee of Costa Rica.
