Disruptive Travel: The End Of The World As We Know It
The situation around the world, with its lack of order and certainties, is impacting massively on the travel industry. For the first time in decades a question mark hangs over growth, which was previously considered safe. More than ever, regional crises and terrorist attacks are influencing tourists, who have now become unsettled, in their choice of destination. At ITB Berlin Convention 2017 numerous sessions will discuss how to improve safety and security in global tourism and what measures can be taken to stabilise travel demand in times of crisis.
At the same time we are experiencing the full force of a new phenomenon, the digital transformation. Technology giants are currently investing heavily in artificial intelligence. In the travel industry too this new technology trend has the potential to undo established value chains and create a completely new order. ITB Berlin Convention will be looking at the prospects for artificial intelligence and discussing ways in which business can benefit.
